Advantage
Legal Status
Surrogacy is legal in Kyrgyzstan under the Law on Reproductive Rights of Citizens.
- Only heterosexual married couples are currently eligible.
- Surrogacy must be medically indicated (i.e., the woman is unable to carry a pregnancy).
- A formal surrogacy contract between the intended parents and the surrogate is required.
- The surrogate has no parental rights over the child.
